You have successfully installed WebSite from O'Reilly
& Associates, Inc. WebSite's many features let you easily
run your own web server and publish documents on the Internet or
an Intranet. Features in WebSite include:
Fully graphical administration for easy configuration.
Fully graphical display of the documents in your web and their
properties through WebView.
WebIndex utility for creating keyword search indexes of all or
part or your web.
Map This!, graphical editor for creating clickable image maps.
Wizards for creating common HTML pages and setting up virtual
Server-side includes (SSI) for easy creation of dynamic document
Virtual servers (multi-homing) for hosting multiple webs with
unique IP addresses from a single copy of WebSite.
Mapping lets you store your documents anywhere on your disks
or even on other disks in the network. You control the URLs used
to reach these locations.
Flexible display of directory listings, with annotations,
provides ftp-like capability. Support for form-based uploading
(sample CGI included) allows others to upload to your web.
Access control lets you limit access to parts of your web by
user/group name and password and/or IP address/hostname filtering.
Support for three CGIs -- Windows, Standard, and DOS --
lets you add live data to your documents. A complete toolkit
for developing server applications using Visual Basic 4.0
(32-bit) with serveral examples.
Support for the connection re-use (keep-alive) protocol cuts down
on network latency.
Support for the byte-range protocol, which allows incremental
page-at-a-time reading of documents. No need ot download the
entire document before seeing. Currently supported by Adobe Acrobat Amber
plug-in for Netscape Navigator.

Do You Have the Latest Version?
From time to time, service releases of WebSite (called inline
patches) are made available for free download. These new
releases may include minor enhancements as well as bug fixes.
To get the latest version, follow these steps:
Maximize the WebSite server's icon and check the version number
(for example, Version 1.1f).
O'Reilly Software Download Central.
Follow the links from that page to download the free version of
